Leader key is a keyboard shortcut concept where instead of remembering a combination of keys for a shortcut, you start with a letter (leader key), which will show a bunch of options, and you start filtering by pressing the next letter and so on until you find your shortcut. It may seem slower, but it reduces the key combinations that you have to memorize, so it may actually help with discoverability.
